Welcome to the SciWorld website
Where is SciWorld?
SciWorld is a science outreach organisation, so we like to do fun science in lots of different places, like at schools, at science fairs and open days, in libraries, at shows and public events, and at birthday parties around Adelaide, and all over South Australia. Can we bring our equipment to your place? Our long term aim is to establish a new science centre in Adelaide to use as a base to run exciting science education programs for all South Australians. In the meantime we are really grateful for the support of the University of South Australia in storing our equipment.
SciWorld is a South Australian not-for-profit science outreach organisation formed in early 2007.
Industry Tours with SA Water
Bookings are now open for free tours of the Hope Valley Water Treatment Plant and the Bolivar Wastewater Treatment Plant, as part of SA Water's BrainWave 2010 Learning Program. School and community groups of up to 30 participants are invited to find out how water gets to your tap 365 days a year, and where it goes once you're finished with it. Click here for more info or go to the "Industry Tours" page.
Science Alive!
Did you visit us at Science Alive at the Adelaide Showgrounds in 2009? We'll be back again in the Goyder Pavillion in 2010, so hope to see you August 6, 7 and 8.
There will be science shows, music, flying things, and hands-on experiments to try. Be amazed at Prof Rob Morrison and Dr Deane Hutton's Curious Science Show, and crawl inside inflatable Stardomes to explore the night sky during the daytime. Check out our Photos page to see some photos from last year's experimenters.
