SciWorld for Hire
SciWorld presents at schools, Open Days, fetes, fairs, and community events. We can present science shows, run robotics and electronics workshops, inflate the Stardome for astronomy sessions, and bring hands-on science exhibits to indoor venues of varying size.
Here are a couple of shots from Tanunda Lutheran School BBQ in August. It was a little bit dusty, but Jess, Anne-Marie and Lisa showed constellations in the Stardome as well as some hands-on science exhibits. Jess and Lisa were also recently at Elizabeth Shopping Centre to celebrate National Science Week.
Our exhibits and presenters are for hire at reasonable rates for community events. We presented robotics and electronics sessions with EICTA at the Mount Gambier Careers Expo on September 10 and 11, 2009. Another example was our presence at the Animal Expo/Family Festival at the Showgrounds in mid-March. For this three day event, we provided 30 interactive exhibits, a Stardome plus presenters, and presenters and props for two science shows each day.
The SciWorld Star Dome
is used at SciWorld Sunday events and at National Science Week's Science Alive event.
It is available for hire with a SciWord presenter for $500 a day for schools looking to interest their students in astronomy. The night sky is projected across the ceiling of the Stardome and an experienced presenter leads the students on a journey of discovery designed to stimulate their interest in the world around them. Sessions run for 20 minutes, 40 minutes or 60 minutes. Ideal for primary school students, with the presentation tailored to the various age-groups.
