About SciWorld
SciWorld is a South Australian not-for-profit organisation full of people who are passionate about science. We provide science outreach programs in various locations around Adelaide and South Australia. We gratefully acknowledge all our supporters and volunteers who make it possible to take science out and about. At present we store our equipment with the help of the University of South Australia at Mawson Lakes.
Dear Lisa, I had a great time doing science with you. I enjoyed it when you showed us the rocket. I would like to be a scientist when I grow up! It was fun doing the tornado. I also like the bicarb soda when we put the bicarb soda in and the balloon blew up. I had fun. - Melody
Hi Lisa. Thanks so much for your work in our school last week. The ideas, energy and enthusiasm that you generated was a credit to you and also the possibilities that such a program can develop in schools. - Greg Doig, Principal, Warooka
Dear Tracy, Thank-you for showing us around SA Water Centre. I had the best time! The 5 stations were the best! - Isaac
This is one of the best excursions. It was fun making the slime - Beth
Thank You SciWorld for your invaluable assistance in delivering our 2009 School and community education program. You have helped us reach more than 10,000 students and community members in South Australia. The Education and Library Services Team at SA Water.
Being the school's Environmental Education focus teacher it was by chance that I came across SciWorld's Robotics Program... Now I have experienced the dynamic presentation that Lisa provided I certainly wish to have all remaining middle school classes indulge in this fantastic program. Lisa has a delightful personality allowing her to warm to the children immediately. Her organisation, student management and fantastic ability to engross the students in the program at their level is truly inspirational. The students loved every aspect of the 90 minute session. I would hate the other classes to have missed out because these children today will certainly be spreading the word of science. Congratulations Lisa and SciWorld on a highly impressive and stimulating program. John Ford, Greenwith Primary School.
SciWorld formed in early 2007 following the closure of The Investigator Science and Technology Centre in late 2006. Our aim is to establish a new science centre in Adelaide to use as a base to run exciting science education programs for all South Australians, with particular emphasis on those in the 6 - 15 year age group.
